Most bosses can be exploited and unfortunately the best tactic in general gameplay is also exploity and tedious. While all heroes are usable, if you're already struggling then avoid using the leper, and be biased against slow heroes in general. The real difficulty slider is the light level. The real difficulty is not radiant/darkest. Fights are still reliably winnable under these conditions. Assume all your attacks hit for minimum damage, you never dodge, your deathblow resistance is in fact 0%, and the enemy has a 100% crit rate. However, you must also remember to solve for the worst-possible-RNG version of that puzzle. Every battle is a puzzle you must solve to not die. Similarly, while some heroes are (intentionally) better than others, they are all usable. If you feel like you've lost and need to restart you haven't and don't. This includes the difficulty spike at the beginning. If something is causing you issues, there is a reasonable in-game solution to that issue. The game is in fact largely well-designed. One of the hardest times is right at the beginning, in the first dozen weeks or so. The difficult curve is, shall we say, not great. I don't recommend spoiling yourself though, it will strip out a bunch of meaty gameplay. Don't expect to win the first time you fight them. The display caps out at 95%, and you may notice that 95+5 = 100. Accuracy lies to you, it's always 5% higher than displayed.
